Perception: The Map Is Not The Territory

Hi everyone, It’s Matt here, and I’m back to share some more tips with you. Today I’d like to discuss perception.  As mentioned last time, my specialist area is NLP – Neuro-Linguistic Programming, which is similar to CBT. A classic NLP phrase is: The map is not the territory.   This phrase means that everyone’s perception is different. Two people can look at the same thing and see something different. 5 Tips For A Great Sleep

Hey everyone! Welcome back to Stridi Towers. My name is Matt Lawrence and I’m an accredited NLP Coach (it’s similar to things like CBT), so I thought I’d share some life coaching tips. If you follow our Twitter feed , you’ll know we’ve been posting regular tips on wellbeing and, in particular, advice on getting a great night’s sleep.   So, I thought what better way to start the week than to produce a blog on tips for good sleep? So, here’s five tips to get a great night’s sleep! Numero Uno: Either turn off your pho...

Hey everyone! Welcome back to Stridi Towers. Today we’re going to discuss the best ways to overcome that afternoon slump. We all know that feeling. Lunch was an hour ago.  We’re laying back in our chair, waiting for ideas to come to us. We haven’t touched that spreadsheet in front of us for the last ten minutes.  Our mind feels fuzzy. Our eyelids are heavy. We’re craving caffeine. Here’s five great ways to get the ideas flowing again:        1. Avoid caffeine. Drink water. Hydration is one of the best ways to revive a tired mind.    Whilst it may be tempting to turn to trusty tea or coffee, caffeine is a short-term fix which can cause other problems, such as interrupted sleep. Tea and coffee are also diuretics, meaning they actually increase dehydration. So, if your body is lacking in water, caffeine can be a counterproductive move. However, this doesn’t mean that you have to avoid hot drinks altogether. Organic herba...
