5 Tips For A Great Sleep

Hey everyone! Welcome back to Stridi Towers. My name is Matt Lawrence and I’m an accredited NLP Coach (it’s similar to things like CBT), so I thought I’d share some life coaching tips. If you follow our Twitter feed , you’ll know we’ve been posting regular tips on wellbeing and, in particular, advice on getting a great night’s sleep.   So, I thought what better way to start the week than to produce a blog on tips for good sleep? The thing is, the modern world is full of amazing things but the downside is that this means there are more distractions.  I mean, hands up who has a TV in their bedroom? It’s not just TV though.  Our Smartphones are always pinging. Work is a 24/7 arrangement. Spare time is often at a minimum.   These issues can really affect our sleep, and many of us struggle to get to sleep, stay asleep or don’t feel refreshed in the morning. So, here’s five tips to get a great night’s sleep! Numero Uno: Either turn off your pho...

Life Hack: Awesome Tips For Stress Relief Over The Festive Period

Hello again! It’s the most wonderful time of the year…. and also, arguably, the most stressful.   I likely wasn’t the only one heading home from town this morning, suddenly thinking “oh no! I still haven’t got anything for so-and-so”. If you’ve even got half of your Christmas shopping done, that’s amazing. If you haven’t started yet, that’s fine too – life gets in the way. This time of year isn’t easy. There’ll be plenty of people still running to the shops over the next week or so. However much you’ve achieved, you’re doing great. A personal story: I was walking through town today. It was busy. The Christmas market was on, people were rushing around, there were things in the way, lots of noise.  I’m an anxious person, but having previously worked in retail for over two years, I’m used to busy places, crowds and shoppers.    Even so, I felt tension, the atmosphere was overwhelming. I didn’t know which shops to go into. I’m not much of a shopper, a...

Getting through the day, being “in the moment”.  The reason there’s so much talk about this famous “moment”, is simply because: the past doesn’t exist. You can’t change it. The future hasn’t happened yet, but what we do now can influence it. Photo by Daniel Torobekov from Pexels   The best way to influence the future in a positive manner is by being in control right now. Breathing calmly. Smiling.  As we covered last time, we can’t control the mood we wake up in. But we can do things to improve it. What time do you get up in the morning? Are you an early starter or a late riser? There’s no right answer to this. You do what suits you.  We are told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and whilst there is an element of truth to this – we all know someone who skips breakfast and gets by alright, don’t we? In reality, our morning routine is a very importa...
