In this
piece, we’ll be talking about how spending time with dogs can be really beneficial for your mind - and your body.
Turn that frown upside down!
Because our
furry, four legged friends can improve your happiness, just from spending a few
minutes with them.
Dogs can also help to reduce your stress and anxiety levels and, if you’re home alone for the day, your fluffy friend can be a great companion. If you struggle with loneliness, a dog might just be your new best friend. In fact, talking of best friends….
A dog can provide all the happiness, companionship and optimism that your usual friends do.
But as mentioned earlier, it’s not just your mental health that dogs can help to improve.

If you struggle to go out for walks, or it’s too wet to go out for a jog around the block, your small friend is likely to be enthusiastic, and this enthusiasm can be very influential. This could mean that you’ll go out more often on days when the weather is off-putting, or you would otherwise not be in the right mindset. This can help your physical and mental wellbeing. You’ll get a great workout and you’ll also gain the satisfaction of overcoming your inner voice, who may have been advising you to watch an extra episode of that sitcom on Netflix.
Dogs also give you a common ground with other dog owners. While this may sound obvious, you’ll have more chances to stop and chat to strangers in the park, and maybe even make a new friend or two.

The best part is, if you’re not ready to take the full responsibility of becoming a dog owner, there are services that allow you to borrow a furry friend, or you can offer to take friend’s dogs out for walks.
There are loads of other possibilities too, so if you’ve never been much of a dog person, or an animal person in general, then there are opportunities for you to go out of your comfort zone and gain all of the benefits that dogs can provide.
That’s it for today! We hope you’ve enjoyed the new topics that we’ve discussed today, and we’re always open to any suggestions for blog posts that you’d love to see.
As always, get in touch via our socials!
Have a good one.
Matt
